Challenge
Wheelchair hockey is a fast-paced and physically demanding sport, but there are very few tools available to accurately measure player performance. Traditional methods are often manual, inconsistent, and lack detailed insights. At the moment, there is no accessible way to measure speed live on the field. The only existing solution is testing with a roller bench after play, which is not only expensive but also does not reflect real in-game conditions. The main challenges I faced were: Measuring speed accurately in real-time during actual gameplay Creating a solution that works directly on the field instead of after sessions Integrating sensors without interfering with the wheelchair or player movement Supporting both individual and team-based testing Keeping the system simple and user-friendly On top of that, I needed to ensure stable and reliable wireless communication between the hardware and the app.
